Celebrity is a luxury cruise line and because of that it has a lot of perks not included in the more budget-friendly cruise lines. Celebrity has a different feel. People go on Celebrity to be impressed. To be made to feel like they are having a luxurious experience. Check out some of the reasons Celebrity Cruises are just a step above!
Don’t get me wrong. There are other cruise lines that have steeper price tags and have even more amenities (butler for every stateroom? That’s a bit much for me!), but those cruise lines are often not in the price range of average people.
That’s not true of Celebrity. When you add the cost of drink packages, gratuities and wifi, the price of the Celebrity cruises are a couple hundred dollars more for a comparable room verses the more budget lines (yes, I know how entitled that makes me sound). If you are interested in adjusting your room category, you can go on a Celebrity cruise for the same price as a Carnival cruise.
Don’t just assume Celebrity is more expensive. Add up all the things that you spend money on in your cruise and then take a look at the cost difference.
It’s a whole different feel when the waiters don’t have to ring up the drinks and just top off your glass of wine at dinner.
And the towel situation. On Royal and Carnival, you have to hold on to your towel for dear life. Because losing your towel is not worth 25+ dollars. But on Celebrity there are unlimited clean towels. You don’t have to give anybody your room number, you don’t have to stand in line and you don’t have to ask your cabin steward.
Towels are just there on the deck chairs or in the towel holders. And you just grab one. I have watched the crew pick up towel after towel from the deck chairs when it is late in the evening and everyone has gone down to get ready for dinner. And the people just left the towels laying on the deck chairs with no thought. No “I need to return this”, no “I don’t want to be charged for this”, just walked away because it didn’t matter.
Who wants to worry about a towel?
The crew on Celebrity is also really great. They go out of your way to make sure you have a great time. The crew members remember your orders, they stop and chat with people. They seem like they are happy to be there.
They provide cooling cloths and flavored water when you come back in from port. These make standing in line much more pleasant when you are waiting to get back on the ship!
Celebrity’s ships are beautiful. Royal Caribbean ships are fun. I mean they just look fun, but Celebrity’s ships are pretty. They have unique seating, unique features and they feel different depending on where you look. And modern. The ships are so incredibly modern. Who else would have a tree in the elevators or a rooftop garden?
The food is amazing, but the buffet is really where Celebrity is better than the other cruise lines. Filet mignon on the buffet at lunch. What a way to make an impression! The food in the buffet is substantially better than the food on other cruise buffets I have experienced. Who else makes fresh eggs benedict at breakfast?
The coffee shop, Cafe al Bacio, which is included in the included drink package, is amazing. It is centrally located making it super convenient. If you sit down to drink your coffee in the cafe they bring cute little snacks! The coffee itself has a very European feel. Absolutely the best coffee shop at sea. And again, it’s included with the drink package…which is included in the price of your cruise.
Even if you’re not normally a luxury cruiser, it’s worth looking into Celebrity. Check the prices, because if it’s not much more once you add in gratuities, drinks and wifi which are all included on Celebrity. The vibe on Celebrity makes it so worth it!
