Bring an extension cord
Not a surge protector. There are persistent rumors that you are not allowed to bring extension cords on cruises. You can bring and extension cord, just not a surge protector. Also remember that on some of the ships – even ones that have been redone recently – there may not be an outlet next the bed. We have a 15 foot extension cord so it can make it all the way from the desk to the opposite side of the bed. This is the cord we have used (and gotten on board with no problems).
What to do about distilled water
You can purchase distilled water on board, but you can also bring distilled water on board. If you bring your distilled water, then it must be with your machine when you embark the ship.
I recommend bringing a few smaller bottles of distilled water depending on the number of days. We normally just grab liter sized bottles from the grocery store, but you can also get something like these from amazon that say they will make it through TSA security.
That means you must have your machine in your carry on.
But you probably want to do that anyway in the same way that you should always carry on all medication.
Depending on your packing preferences, you can bring either a small rolling carry on, but we use a special backpack for sleep machines. It has multiple pockets on the inside of the bag for the machine, a laptop, water bottles and plenty of pockets for whatever you might need. Check the bag out on amazon:
A dust cover
This is less of a necessity, but cruise ships are often super dusty. Think about a bag to keep the mask in during the day so it doesn’t get dusty! This is the one we use:
Make your life easier: put your CPAP and all of its stuff into one bag and carry it on the ship.
