What are your options for breakfast on board the Carnival Venezia? There are several breakfast options on board the Carnival Venezia. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your only option is the main buffet!
The Buffet
Sometimes you do just need to grab food from the main buffet lines. There is nothing wrong with that. There are two sets of food lines that are pretty standard with fruits, yogurts, oatmeal, eggs cooked various ways, grits, etc.
At the back of the buffet area is where you can find a larger selection of fruits (especially pre-cut fruits) and the pastries. Cereal is in dispensers on the sides near the tables, but you do still have to grab your milk from the regular buffet lines.
Omelets
There are two omelet stations on the main buffet of the Carnival Venezia. One is near the front of the buffet area at what is a dessert station during lunch. The other omelet station is where the deli is located during the rest of the day. The omelets have plenty of options to customize.
They will also make fried eggs at the omelet stations.
Tomodoros
Breakfast burritos are very popular on Carnival cruise ships. Tomodoros makes breakfast burritos exactly the same as Blue Iguana did (I really don’t understand why they changed the name). The burritos are customizable.
The other side of Tomodoros has huevos rancheros and arepas. The huevos rancheros come standard with a tortilla topped with beans, chicken and cheese and then they cook an egg (or two) to your specification to put on top. They will make them without the beans or chicken or whatever so you can always ask to get them a specific way.
They also have a little tray of arepas sitting there. The arepas are like a sweet, cheesy, corn pastry. If you have never tried them before, grab one while you get your heuvos rancheros. They don’t actually have to cook them – they are pre-cooked and just sitting there so it doesn’t take any more time to grab one!
Pro Tip: You can also get the items from the Huevos Rancheros station in your burrito. You can get the beans or chicken they put on the huevos rancheros in your breakfast burrito!
Main Dining Room
The main dining room has a sea day brunch menu and a standard breakfast menu depending on the day. I personally find the sea day brunch menu to be a little overrated and really actually enjoyed the standard breakfast menu better.
But for either one, don’t be afraid to ask for what you want. They have plenty of muffins and pastries. One day I wanted an english muffin, which is not on the list of pastries but it wasn’t a problem at all. They also have some additional juices that are not available in the buffet so this is a great place to get your morning grapefruit juice, if that’s your thing!
Pro Tip: Check in on the Hub App before you leave your room. When you go to check in, it will give you an expected wait time. Once you have made your reservation it will update it. After the app tells you your table is ready you have 10 minutes to make your way to the restaurant. On busy days it can get really crowded in the area in front of the dining room so it is much more pleasant to wait in your room and then head to the dining room once they are ready for you!
Room service?
At the time of our sailing, you had to call to request room service. There are no more of those fun little forms hanging in the room. Room service for other times of day is available on the app (mostly for a fee), but for breakfast you have to call and request it.
And that’s it.
Not a long list of choices of where to eat breakfast on board the Carnival Venezia, but there are plenty of choices for everyone.
I highly recommend skipping the main buffet lines f you can help it. The omelets, Tomodoros and the dining room all have much better food quality, though they may take a little more time.
