The Harmony of the Seas is a great cruise ship for children and families, but what about adults and couples? Before we went on Harmony of the Seas, I felt like all the guides for what to do on board were geared towards kids and families. What about couples? These are some of the activities, locations and cool features on the Harmony of the Seas that are geared towards adults or can be enjoyed by adults, kids, families and everyone!
1. Grease / Stage Productions
Grease is not a show for kids. There were plenty of kids there and I know I watched Grease as a kid (and enjoyed it). But think about some of those lyrics! Grease is a great show for date night – it’s fun, nostalgic and Harmony of the Seas does a great production. The cast is very talented and I highly recommend it!
2. Specialty Dining
Specialty dining is a great activity for couples. Many of the restaurants attempt to cultivate a romantic atmosphere in their specialty restaurants. While the food in the main dining room is good, the specialty restaurants really take everything up a notch!
And I know Wonderland sounds like it might be geared towards kids, but those funky foods are great for adults who want to venture into unusual foods without going too far. And some of the foods might be a little too far for some of the kids I know!
3. Trivia
Most of the trivia categories are best for adults. What kid knows one hit wonders from the 70s? Of course, the trivia is family friendly, but there are categories and topics for adults to win! Trivia is held during the afternoon most days during the cruise. Check the app in advance to figure out which day you will shine!
4. Comedy
Comedy is often geared towards adults. It’s much harder to make family friendly comedy funny so comedy is a great evening activity for adults on the Harmony of the Seas!
5. Ice Skating / Flow Rider / Zipline / Rock Climbing
Ice skating, the flow rider and the zipline are not just for kids. There were plenty of adults doing these activities so don’t worry about it being for kids – it’s not. Just have fun and try not to hurt yourself! (Like me. I bruised my tailbone ice skating but it was still worth it!)
6. Enjoy the Solarium
The Solarium is the adults only area on the Harmony of the Seas and while it is a little disappointing compared to Solariums on other Royal Caribbean ships, it is still kids free. The Solarium is a place for people 16 and older, not necessarily full grown adults, but there are still no kids running around and hopefully nobody splashing in the hot tub. On other Royal Caribbean ships, the Solarium is a great place to enjoy an adults only pool, but there is no pool in the Solarium on the Harmony of the seas.
7. Casino
The casino on a cruise ship is a great place to try your hand at gambling if you don’t live near somewhere that offers it. The casino will offer lessons to help you learn the games if you are new. Check your app or cruise compass for times. You can also just watch some of the games – things can get exciting in the casino so it can be good entertainment just to watch!
8. Chill in Central Park
There are park benches and hidden spots in the trellises throughout Central Park. It makes a great place to sit and enjoy your time on the ship. During the day, Park Café is open with foods and drink machines, but in the evening Central Park with its hidden nooks and benches is a great place to enjoy some time outside.
9. Classes
Check your Cruise Compass / app for classes and activities during the daily. There are often daily dance lessons that range from Line Dancing to Salsa Dancing. These are less than an hour and can be a fun way to spend some time out of the sun and in the air-conditioning.
10. Hang out in or by the pools
People hang out by the pool literally all day on cruise ships. There is endless entertainment in the pool. Royal Caribbean often has activities and competitions on the pool deck that are a lot of fun to participate in or even just watch.
The Harmony of the Seas has three pools. They have a beach pool where the water comes up under the deck chairs on the starboard side and the main pool and sports pool on the port side. Activities by the entertainment staff take place in the main pool, but all three pools are an enjoyable place to hang out, enjoy the company around you, enjoy the sunshine or people watch.
The Harmony of the Seas is a huge cruise ship and is full of fun activities for adults. The activities on board the Harmony of the Seas for adults that aren’t drinking are spread throughout the ship. They can be done at many different times of day throughout your cruise. In the daytime there are tons of fun activities for adults as well as kids and in the night time there are plenty of romantic dining options and fun entertainment.
Make sure you check out these fun activities on your next Harmony of the Seas adventure!
